Del Cerro Homeowners Association is a California Nonprofit Mutual Benefit Corporation that was formed on May 26, 1964, in the early years of development of the Del Cerro community.
The HOA’s mission is to promote the common good and general welfare of the Del Cerro community as a whole.

The HOA actively pursues the following goals:

-
Foster the safety, security, and general well-being of residents in the community to maintain our quality of life.
-
Encourage a sense of community and congenial neighborliness among Del Cerro residents and facilitate social interaction among owners and residents that fosters cooperative and collaborative effort to resolve issues that arise within the community.
-
Promote community planning, projects, and developments, and generally to do or cause to be done all things necessary or advisable for the welfare, convenience, protection, and happiness of owners and residents.
-
Inform property owners and residents of issues that affect the residents of the community and facilitate communication with the officials and staff of the City of Rancho Palos Verdes and Los Angeles County.
-
Act as a representative or advocate of the interests of Del Cerro owners and residents to resolve City or County issues in ways that are beneficial or acceptable to the Del Cerro community.
-
Create and maintain an aesthetically pleasing and welcoming ambience for residents and visitors to the community.
-
Foster the rights and interests of property owners within Del Cerro and promote the preservation and enhancement of property values within the community.
Following is a list of some of the on-going activities the HOA conducts to accomplish its goals:

-
Sponsors Del Cerro Neighborhood Watch crime prevention and emergency preparedness programs.
-
Actively promotes safe traffic and parking behavior within Del Cerro and surrounding areas.
-
Maintains and operates an entry security camera to prevent crime.
-
Administers the neighborhood’s permit parking program.
-
Maintains the landscaping and sign at the Del Cerro entry and plans occasional resident entry workdays to provide a welcoming ambience to the neighborhood.
-
Plans and hosts periodic social events to encourage residents to get to know their neighbors – such as annual membership meetings, block parties, ice cream socials, and Halloween events.
-
Provides information on existing City policies and procedures to residents (for example, coyote management plan, road maintenance, fire hazard mitigation in the preserve, required development permits, view restoration/preservation, etc.).
-
Communicates information regarding City-wide and Peninsula activities and issues of interest to residents.
Annual membership dues are currently $80. Membership in the HOA is totally voluntary and is open to both property owners and residents. Ninety percent (90%) of our owners and residents are members. We invite all HOA members to consider volunteering support in an area of your interest, including serving on the board of directors of the HOA. Active participation in the HOA is a great way to get to know your neighbors!

The HOA maintains its active corporation status by submitting biennial Statements of Information to the California Secretary of State. The organization is exempt from federal income taxes under Section 501(c)(4) of the Internal Revenue Code and is exempt from state income taxes under Section 23701f of the California Revenue & Tax Code as a social welfare organization.
